Alma is a monumental 17-story mural by artist duo Yanoe x Zoueh, located in the heart of Campustown, Champaign, Illinois. Measuring 65 feet wide and spanning the full height of a high-rise building, the artwork is one of the tallest murals in the Midwest and a signature piece within the BAM! (Boneyard Area Mural Initiative).

The mural reimagines Lorado Taft’s iconic Alma Mater sculpture, layering classical forms with vibrant abstraction, DNA-like geometry, and natural floral motifs. Its scale and design create a powerful landmark for the University of Illinois Urbana–Champaign community and the city at large.

From a business perspective, Alma demonstrates how large-scale public art can transform urban corridors. Positioned along bustling Green Street, the project enhances the visual identity of the district, attracts foot traffic, and signals Champaign’s commitment to placemaking and cultural investment.
