FAQ

Downtown block featuring large eye motif mural — city streetscape
  • Yes. Percent-for-Art (often “1% for Art”) requires eligible projects to allocate a portion of construction costs to public art. We manage the whole compliance path: early scoping with the owner/city, concept submittals, budgets tied to valuation, PAC/arts commission reviews, stamped drawings (as needed), insurance/COIs, installation logistics, maintenance plan, plaque specs, and final close-out documentation (including valuation and photo records). We can also coordinate in-lieu contributions if on-site art isn’t feasible.

  • Typical developer-scale exteriors depend on size, surface prep, access, lifts/swing stage, coatings, and design complexity. As a rough guide:

    • Cost: ~$25–$65+ per sq ft (economies of scale above ~2,000 sq ft).

    • Timeline: Design 2–6 weeks (approvals may add time). Install 5–15+ days on site for 1,500–6,000 sq ft, longer for very large or multi-elevation scopes.
We’ll give a firm schedule after a site walk, elevations, and access plan.

  • Yes—full design-build delivery. We coordinate engineering for any anchors/relief elements/frames, provide permit drawings and submittals when required, and handle install with lift plans, traffic control (if needed), and coatings/warranties. For paint-only murals, permits are usually minimal; anything structural or in the ROW triggers engineering/permits.

  • Absolutely. We align to master schedules (Look-Ahead/Last Planner), attend coordination meetings, and provide JHAs, SDS, daily reports, and COIs. Our crew follows site orientation, PPE, and lift certifications. At close-out we deliver as-installed docs, maintenance/coating specs, warranties, and photo records—plus any city art program paperwork.

  • Yes. We design and deliver AR layers tied to the artwork (app/webAR) and collaborate with trusted partners on LED/lighting—from integrated linear accents to illuminated sculptural elements. We handle content, hardware specs, power/data coordination, and commissioning so the final experience is seamless and durable.
