TRANSITIONS I

Transitions I
San Bernardino, California

Transitions I is a series of monumental murals by artist duo Yanoe x Zoueh, created for Step Up San Bernardino, a supportive housing development by Linc Housing. Spanning multiple façades, the murals feature large-scale portraits intertwined with botanical motifs, water elements, and symbolic abstraction. Together, they form a cohesive narrative of growth, resilience, and renewal within the community.

The project’s visual centerpiece includes towering portraits of men and women surrounded by luminous florals, designed to reflect both vulnerability and strength. By weaving natural imagery across the building’s architecture, the artwork transforms the property into a landmark that radiates warmth and belonging.

Transitions I exemplifies the power of public art in affordable housing and urban revitalization. Beyond aesthetic impact, the murals strengthen property identity, foster civic pride, and position the development as a cultural asset for the city of San Bernardino. The project underscores how large-scale art can elevate housing initiatives, engage communities, and add long-term value to real estate.
